Hearing loss can be temporary which is called as Conductive Hearing Loss, in such cases it’s very unlikely that a person would need any hearing aids given that conductive elements can be removed. The other type of hearing loss is permanent which is called Sensorineural Hearing Loss. In this kind of losses, it’s very likely the person needs to wear hearing aids for good since the damage in the hearing nerve is irreversible. Occasionally both types are combined together then it’ll be called a Mixed Hearing Loss.

Our consultations has three stages: a diagnostic hearing assessment, tympanometric testing and hearing aid counseling and fitting when hearing loss is detected.
Our philosophy in House of Hearing Malaysia is that most of hearing aid brands are good and today’s technology puts these brands in par with each other. What makes one brand differ from the other is mainly patient’s perception and acceptance. Therefore, we aim at offering our patients a wide range of reputable hearing brands. On that, patient will be able to try these brands and select the one suits own needs the most.
Tinnitus Counseling and Management
Tinnitus (also known as ringing in the ears) is the perceiving of sound in the ear when there is no sound presented. It’s becoming more and more common for some people to experience a degree of tinnitus due to the constant increase in causing factors like stress, lack of sleeping, lack of healthy food intake, constant exposure to loud noise, hearing loss, trauma and some types of diseases and disorders. Only people with tinnitus can hear their own ringing sound, others around them can never hear it no matter how loud it is. Tinnitus can be described as ringing, buzzing, or chirping but for individuals with tinnitus, the sounds are very real and perceived as a threat to their well-being.
Often just addressing the underlying hearing loss can alleviate the ringing in the ears. Sound masking and sound therapy is known to provide relief to those experiencing tinnitus. Many of today’s best hearing aids have sound masking features programmed into the device to support wearers with tinnitus. Other options would provide treatment if specific criteria is applicable in the candidates.
Hearing Aids Maintenance, Service and Repair
Hearing aids, like any another electronic devices, are borne to damage and malfunction especially when exposed to excess humidity, moisture or heat which in turn will damage sensitive components. All our hearing aids are protected with nano coating for additional protection against the unexpected.
A number of repairs is made under warranty and can be performed while you are waiting when it’s due to some blockage and attachments damage like RIC receivers, BTE hook and pre-bent tubing or other factors. If for any reason your hearing aids must be returned to the manufacturer for warranty repair, we’ll take care of that for you. If your hearing aids are not under warranty, we will give you a quate of the repair cost before any work is done.
In addition, we highly recommend that you to bring your hearing aids for routine service and cleaning which usually happens once every six months for a deep cleaning. With our complimentary service package, we hope your hearing aids will last long and be whenever you need them the most.
Hearing Conservation Program
Through our hearing conservation program, we aim at preventing hearing loss due to exposure noise whether that is in a workplace or unhealthy habits to listen to music for long hours at loud pace. We try to improve awareness about the importance of protecting the ears from such exposures through actives engagements with the community and also through our regular screening programs where we offer FREE hearing screening to the community. Also, we share with our community the best protocols should be followed to when a person is occasionally or continuously exposed to loud noises and sounds that includes protective measures to prevent hearing loss at home, in school, at work, in the military and at social/recreational events.
Another approach is by taking the chances available thorough social media to educate the “online” community and share with them available relevant assets like videos, images, articles or other possible means.
Home Visit
We understand that some people are not fit either physically or in terms of time and place convenience to travel to any hearing aid center to get their hearing evaluated and get the needed assistance. therefore, we offer Home Visit as a commitment towards our community to enhance and improve awareness about hearing preservation and hearing loss management.
